BE YOU!

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today was the perfect day to journal what I feel I’ve been led to share. If you’ve been following my journey, you know that once I grasp the lesson, only then am I able to put it into words to share. Well, my days don’t always go the way I plan. However, they always end up transpiring the way they were meant to. My youngest and I attended a book reading today and the book was about the very thing God has been dealing with me concerning being true to myself. The book was titled Be True to You! It was written by LeLe Jones Sneed & True Eden Sneed.

Talk about confirmation!!!

Here’s what I got. All my life I’ve heard that I was too nice, gullible and easily manipulated. I won’t say that is completely untrue. However, I will submit that I no longer consider it a weakness. I’m learning to admit my weaknesses to God and ask Him to make them perfect by His strength. I’m learning to celebrate the unique gifts given to me before I was even born. I’m seeing myself the way God sees me, fearfully and wonderfully made. Although there’s always room for growth, God looks at me and considers His work marvelous and He knows me well. I mean He should, He created me.

Every gift we are given was meant to be used for His glory. So, if I’m too nice, maybe it’s because God knew there would be a need for someone with a little extra for all the darkness we now experience in this world. I don’t know what your specific gifts are but celebrate them and grow with them.

Stop doubting and second guessing yourself. Forgive yourself and stop downplaying who you are. And when you get weary, tap into the One who created you and fill yourself back up. You can’t pour from an empty cup and comparison kills.

BE YOU! Love how you were created to love and use your God-given gifts/talents to reach those only you can reach. Live for the audience of ONE. I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone. So now in everything I say and do my only question is: God, are you pleased with me? For me, that makes life so much easier. I can’t always explain myself because some things just aren’t meant to be understood. So, trust God, trust your process and trust yourself.

He makes no mistakes and that includes YOU!
